CARICATURE | HIGHLIGHTS DO PROCESSO CRIATIVO 

CARICATURE, a nova criação de 2025 da Companhia PIA, teve o prazer de se ESTREAR no FIG - Festival Internacional de Gigantes, no passado dia 5 de Julho.

Trata‐se de uma performance itinerante e em site specific, dirigida para os espaços públicos e não‐convencionais, inspirada no expressionismo da Caricatura na sua forma de “artivismo”, inusitada e por vezes humorística de analisar as transformações e permanências de uma sociedade. Reunindo um ensemble artístico multidisciplinar, enriquecido pelas suas diferentes origens e culturas, o universo da Caricatura é explorado nos diferentes domínios performativos, cruzando as formas animadas, teatro físico, acrobacia e manipulação de objetos, conduzindo o público através de um percurso ilustrado por quadros visuais que se vão metamorfoseando no movimento, ocupando as artérias e coração pulsante dos lugares, como um centro físico e metáfora simbólica para a comunidade, numa reflexão sobre sociedade e a sua condição humana.

Ficam acima partilhadas algumas das memórias fotográficas desta ESTREIA em Pinhal Novo na vila que é casa, acima como do processo criativo visual e performático da obra, e da talentosa equipa que o fez acontecer.

É igualmente tempo de agradecer, a todo o público presente que tão bem recebeu esta nova criação e nos gratificou com as suas palavras e entusiasmo, ao elenco da companhia e toda a equipe envolvida neste espetáculo, ao Festival FIG pelo seu já longo trajeto fazendo parte da história cultural da vila, ao Município de Palmela e equipa técnica envolvida no acolhimento.

CARICATURE, the new 2025 creation by Companhia PIA, had the pleasure of PREMIERING at FIG International Festival of Giants, on July 5th. 

it's an itinerant and site-specific performance designed for public and non-conventional spaces, inspired by the expressionism of caricature in its form of "artivism"—an unusual and often humorous way of analyzing the transformations and continuities within society. Bringing together a multidisciplinary ensemble enriched by diverse origins and cultures, the world of caricature is explored across various performative domains, blending animated forms, physical theatre, acrobatics, and object manipulation. The audience is guided along a journey illustrated by visual frames that continuously transform through movement, occupying the arteries and beating heart of each location—a physical center and symbolic metaphor for the community—in a reflection on society and the human condition.

Above are shared some photographic memories of this PREMIERE in Pinhal Novo, the village that is home, as well as glimpses of the creative process — both visual and performative — and of the talented team who made it happen. 

It is also the time to thank the audience, who so warmly welcomed this new creation and gratified us with their words and enthusiasm, the cast of the company and the entire team involved in this production, the FIG Festival for its long journey as part of the cultural history of the village, and the Municipality of Palmela and the technical team involved in hosting.
