Foi com enorme prazer que a Companhia PIA apresentou em "casa", no passado dia 7 de Julho, a Estreia Nacional da sua mais recente criação O2 no âmbito do FIG Festival Internacional de Gigantes em Pinhal Novo.
Antecedendo a tão esperada estreia, no dia 6 de Julho foram convidados da PIA o grupo macaense Long Fung Stilts, com o qual se partilhou o ínicio desta criação em Macau no final de 2018, e desta vez, seguido de uma residência reunindo ambos os grupos, se projectou uma intervenção performativa itinerante com as Personagens que ilustram a obra, percorrendo os caminhos do festival e da cidade que o acolhe.
O2 respirou intensamente o FIG durante 2 dias, estando a Companhia PIA imensamente grata a toda a equipa que ajudou a tornar
esta criação e encontro(s) possível, assim como todas as mensagens recebidas pelo imenso e incrível público que nos acolheu.

O2 trata-se de um projecto de Arte Pública intercultural, que se iniciou na frenética cidade de Macau, onde registos de níveis alarmantes de partículas poluentes começam a ser recorrentes.
Um cenário idílico, mas por razões inapropriadas, que serviu de base para a criação de uma obra que pretende sensibilizar os demais a uma, cada vez maior, necessidade de se encontrar práticas sustentáveis como forma de superar as adversas alterações ambientais que se tornaram, hoje em dia, transversais a todos.

It was with great pleasure that Company PIA presented last July 7th, the National Premiere of its most recent O2 creation at the FIG International Giants Festival in Pinhal Novo (Portugal).
In anticipation of the long-awaited debut and after very special residence, on July 6th PIA invited Macanese group Long Fung Stilts, which she shared the beginning of this creation in Macao at the end of 2018, for an itinerant performative intervention with the Characters that illustrate the work, walking the paths of the festival and the city that welcomes it.
O2 memorably breathed FIG for 2 days, Company PIA is deeply grateful to all the team that has made this creation possible and encounter(s) possible, as well for all the messages received by the immense and incredible public that welcomed us.

O2 it's an intercultural public art project, that was born in Macao city, where records of alarming levels of pollutant particles are beginning to recur.
An idyllic scenario, but for inappropriate reasons, for the creation of a work that arises with the purpose of sensitizing others to an ever greater need to find sustainable practices as a way to overcome the adverse environmental changes that have become today, transversal to all.
